Award categories include: • Improving Working Conditions Award is given to a program that has demonstrated improvement in its working conditions through changes in policies and procedures. • Outstanding Teacher Award is given to a teacher who understands the characteristics of an adult learner and actively demonstrates commitment to the field of adult education. • Outstanding Volunteer Award is given to a volunteer who provides exceptional assistance to an individual or classroom. • Outstanding Student Award is given to student who has overcome difficult circumstances to pursue adult education. • Outstanding Administrator Award is given to an administrator who has made outstanding contributions towards fostering adult education. • Outstanding Business and Labor Partner Award is given to a business or labor partner that has provided outstanding support to foster adult education. MCAE periodically provides financial support to adult basic education students and practitioners for small special projects or advanced study in Adult Education.
